Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshops help caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a loved one. The evidence based curriculum offers a 6-week series led by certified leaders. Each class series meets at the same time and same day for 6-consecutive weeks, whether in person or on-line. This is not a support group, but a supportive network of fellow caregivers, helping you remember you are not alone.
Each class offers a new tool to help caregivers take care of themselves.
Week 1: Reduce Stress
Week 2: Improve Self Confidence
Week 3: Manage Time, Set Goals and Solve Problems
Week 4: Better Communicate their feelings
Week 5: Make Tough Decisions
Week 6: Locate Helpful Resources (includes local resources for caregivers!)
Registration is required. Register on-line by clicking on the class below that best fits your schedule. Registration and additional information available by contacting Karen Kouba-McIver at kkouba@jannus.org or 208-947-4283.

Thanks to the PTC leaders in Ontario for creating this video to help you understand what a PTC class is all about!
What Caregivers liked best about the PTC program:
“The list of negatives turned into positives!”
“Learning the difference between being assertive and not being aggressive”
“Knowing you’re not alone!”
Thanks to the support of the Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging, and the dedication of volunteer leaders, these classes are offered free of charge!
