
Powerful Tools for Caregivers Leader
Have you experienced caregiver burnout, or seen a friend overwhelmed with caregiver related stress? Are you passionate about supporting family caregivers with self-care tools? Do you enjoy teaching in classroom settings? If you answered yes to these questions, becoming a Powerful Tools for Caregivers Class Leader may be a fulfilling volunteer position for you!
Powerful Tools for Caregivers (PTC) is an evidence based ‘train-the-trainer’ model program, designed to help caregivers take care of themselves while caring for a friend or relative. Classes are truly life-changing for anyone struggling to juggle caregiving with all the other responsibilities in life! PTC Volunteer Leaders are trained to co-lead ‘scripted’ 6-week courses year round, based on volunteer leader availability. Courses are offered in-person and online.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers Volunteer Leaders Commit to:
Completing a Leader Training Course (on-line or in person)
Teaching two 6-week series within first year (on line or in-person)
Agree to the terms outlined in the National PTC Class Leader Certification Agreement
Powerful Tools for Caregivers Volunteer Leaders receive:
$125 stipend with each 6-week class series taught.
Leader Certification fees covered by the Legacy Corps Program
Ongoing training, support and mentoring with opportunity to pursue Master Trainer Level Certification
Volunteer Qualifications:
Attend one Powerful Tools for Caregivers class series as a participant
Group facilitation or teaching skills and/or experience
Experience with family caregiving
