Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

At Aging Strong, we believe that everyone has something to give; especially older adults. Through the RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), we connect adults 55 and over with meaningful volunteer opportunities that support their communities, enrich their lives, and expand our impact.

Whether you’re looking to tutor children, provide companionship to other older adults, or offer your professional skills in a new way, RSVP gives you the chance to serve with purpose.

RSVP is one of the largest volunteer networks for people 55 and older. Funded by AmeriCorps Seniors, this program enables you to choose how and where you want to serve. We find volunteer opportunities that match your schedule and align with your passions.

RSVP is administered through Aging Strong and focuses on engaging volunteers in roles that:

· Support family caregivers and older adults through companionship and respite.

· Support veterans and military connected families.

· Tutor and mentor children in local schools

· Strengthen community-based programs through behind-the-scenes support and outreach

Volunteering with RSVP means more than just giving back—it means gaining new purpose, staying socially connected, and improving the wellbeing of others. As an RSVP volunteer, you will:

· Receive orientation and ongoing support

· Have flexible volunteer hours

· Be part of a network of peers making a real difference

· Receive supplemental insurance while on duty

Current Volunteer Opportunities

We currently have volunteer opportunities in the following areas:

· Companionship Respite: Provide companionship to veterans and military connected families so the family caregivers can get a much-needed break.

· Classroom Volunteer: Provide mentorship and support to children in schools. (Perfect for the volunteer that was interested in Foster Grandparent Program, but income exceeds the traditional limits of the Foster Grandparent program.)

· Memory Café: Participate in uplifting events in a safe and welcoming space for individuals living with memory loss and their family caregivers.

· Administrative Support (Capacity Building): Assist with outreach, data entry, and community engagement behind the scenes.
